Our story

DEMO NAME began in a converted barn outside Hudson, with one designer, a long table, and a conviction that most rooms are trying too hard. Fifteen years later we're still small by choice — a studio of eight who would rather do fewer projects well.

We work across residential and commercial interiors, but the approach never changes: understand how a place will really be used, then remove everything that gets in the way of that. What's left tends to feel warm, unforced and quietly enduring.

"We design for the ordinary Tuesday, not the photograph. A room earns its keep when you stop noticing it and simply live."
01

Restraint

Fewer, better decisions. We edit until only the essential remains, then let materials and light carry the room.

02

Warmth

Natural timber, plaster, wool and stone. Honest materials that age gracefully and feel good to touch.

03

Care

We stay close from first sketch to final styling, and we sweat the details no one is meant to notice.

How We Work

Four steps, no surprises.

01Listen

We spend time in the space and with you, understanding routines, budgets and the feeling you're chasing.

02Shape

Plans, materials and a clear direction — presented as a single coherent vision, not a pile of options.

03Build

We manage the trades and the timeline on site, keeping the design intact from drawing to reality.

04Style

The last ten percent — art, objects, light and linen — that turns a finished room into somewhere that feels like you.
